HOW WE BEGAN

Back in Sri Lanka after finishing his degree in the US, Hisham Cader (simply known as Cader to friends and customers) was trying to figure out what he wanted to do next.

It was not until the next morning when he logged back into his e-mail to find 400 orders to be delivered within 2 days, when it hit him - he had just started what would be his career as a restaurateur.

Bored and uninspired by much of the opportunities that came his way, on a whim, he crafted a sandwich menu, typed it up and sent it out via e-mail to friends. It was one of those now or never moments where something had to be done and this seemed to be it.

Before long, Cader needed to move out of his home-based operation and opened up a takeaway outlet at Dwellings. A few months later Odel had its own Sandwich Factory, and then came the first diner themed restaurant at Wijerama Mw.

The rest, as they say, is hysteria.
